How could the Nation's capital get this corrupt? The City's School Board is biased towards inner-city schools and some teachers even take bribes to teach in the burbs. The crime rate has risen for vauge or unknown reasons, along with an odd disproportion of occupants being sent to mental facilities. There are crooked laywers who take things under the table to keep allowing wealthy criminals to traffic anything that's illegal.
The future of this city is looking bleak. However, there is a yin to every yang. DC's more modest citizens are taking action, whether it involves solving their own crimes, protesting, challenging the school board, finding better lawyers, or even taking heed from the spoken words that come from the artists of DC's local independent music scene and local radio stations. There's always a constant war between good and evil, and it might continue till there's no good or evil left. The question is..where will you stand?
Each month the District Staff, or members even, take a look at what that month is about. We choose one, or perhaps many, depending on the matter. We like to look at stuff that isn't heavily advertised or stuff that makes a difference. After it is chosen we welcome members to post information they may have found or experiences they themselves have been through.
